A zine I put together with a comrade pre-COP15. COP15 was the fifteenth time the UN had tried to bring together nations to sort out climate change. Held in Copenhagen last December it was also the site for a mobilisation of social movements, which in the run up to the event was being compared to the protests that shut down the WTO summit in Seattle ten years previous.
The non-result of the conference was the Copenhagen Acorrd. The protests too turned out to be smaller than expected, facing intense police repression. With this in mind Evo Morralles invited social movements from accross the globe to attend a World Peoples’ Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth. The Conference took place in Cochabamba, Bolivia, at the end of April this year. Some interesting reflections on it can be found here.
